Being based in New Zealand’s pristine Far North, we are committed to leaving as little trace as possible, and help our customers achieve the same. Our bespoke high quality glass bottles have been designed for longevity and reuse. We choose glass as it can be indefinitely recycled without losing quality, and its sensual stone-like feel makes it a special gift to yourself or your loved one, a taonga – meaning special gift in Māori. The organic shapes of our bottles are inspired by water-honed greenstone (pounamu) found in New Zealand's South Island rivers – Māori taonga.
sugarcane plastic refills
Once purchased, you can top up your glass bottle(s) with our refills made from recyclable sugar cane plastic, which uses a manufacturing process involving less carbon emissions. Sugarcane absorbs CO2 during its growth, offering a reduced carbon footprint for the resulting plastic, making it a potentially carbon-neutral material – in contrast to the carbon-heavy production of traditional plastics. Sugarcane is also a renewable resource, this plastic lessens the reliance on finite fossil fuels, aligning with global sustainability goals. This plastic is also very recyclable, matching the physical properties of conventional plastics so it can enter existing recycling streams, supporting the circular economy and reducing the need for virgin plastic production.
Ethically Harvested ingredients
All of our products are made using regenerative practices in harvesting or with choosing suppliers. Many brands make such claims, but rarely are they harvested, manufactured and designed in-house, as they are at Āe Botanicals. We use the highest quality raw materials, many which we harvest ourselves locally. Products are formulated by Suzanne Hall, who has spent 40 years creating the worlds most natural and recognised natural formulations. Hall specialises in using nature to help keep and create vibrant healthy skin. Our ingredients are Ecocert approved and we are in process of getting overall Ecocert certification. We are certified for SAFE.
Investing Locally
Our business is housed and products made at the Ngawha Innovation Park, as part of a indigenous collective focusing on creating sustainable micro-businesses for our region, here in the Far North of New Zealand. As part of the Innovation park, our focus is to build local micro-business to help whanau whenua blocks generate income. This is a long term project that we are starting to build, thanks to your purchase of our products.
